Cookie Policy

Effective date: May 5, 2026 Operator: Apex Rev (sole proprietorship — Jedesson Tavares) Contact: contact@apexrev.store

This Cookie Policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used on apexrev.store (the "Store"), the purposes they serve, and how you can manage your preferences. It complements our Privacy Policy and applies in conjunction with the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) as transposed into national law of EU/EEA member states (and PECR in the United Kingdom).

1. What Is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the website owners. Similar technologies include local-storage entries, pixel tags, and SDK identifiers — they are all referred to as "cookies" in this Policy for simplicity.

Cookies can be:

  • First-party (set by apexrev.store) or third-party (set by another domain such as Shopify, Google, or Meta).
  • Session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a defined period).

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

We group cookies into four categories:

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies (always active)

These cookies are essential for the Store to function. They cannot be switched off and do not require consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive. Without them, basic services such as cart, checkout, and login would not work.

Cookie / item Provider Purpose Typical duration
cart, cart_currency, cart_ts, cart_sig Shopify Maintain the shopping cart across pages Session / up to 14 days
_shopify_y, _y Shopify Identify a visitor across pages for storefront functionality Up to 1 year
_shopify_s, _s Shopify Maintain the visitor's current session Session / 30 minutes
secure_customer_sig Shopify Persist customer login Up to 20 years (cleared on logout)
__cf_bm Cloudflare (used by Shopify) Bot mitigation, security 30 minutes
cookie_consent (or equivalent) Apex Rev Store your cookie-consent choice Up to 12 months

2.2 Functional Cookies (consent-based, where required)

These improve the user experience but are not strictly necessary.

Cookie / item Provider Purpose Typical duration
localization Shopify Remember the language and country selection Up to 1 year
_orig_referrer, _landing_page Shopify Remember how you arrived at the Store Up to 14 days

2.3 Analytics Cookies (consent required)

We use analytics cookies only after you give consent through our cookie banner.

Cookie / item Provider Purpose Typical duration
_ga, _ga_ Google Analytics 4 Distinguish users and sessions, aggregate site-usage statistics Up to 2 years
_gid Google Analytics 4 Distinguish users for 24 hours 24 hours
Shopify Analytics Shopify Aggregate sales and traffic reports for the merchant Up to 1 year

Where Google Analytics is in use, IP addresses are processed under Google's "IP-anonymisation" / regional-processing settings. Google may transfer data to the United States; transfers are protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

2.4 Marketing / Advertising Cookies (consent required)

These cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of advertising and to display relevant ads on third-party platforms. They are loaded only after explicit consent.

Cookie / item Provider Purpose Typical duration
_fbp, fr Meta (Facebook / Instagram) Conversion measurement and retargeting through the Meta Pixel (if enabled) Up to 90 days
_gcl_au Google Ads Conversion measurement (if enabled) 90 days
IDE, test_cookie Google DoubleClick Ad serving and measurement (if enabled) Up to 1 year

If a given marketing pixel is not active on the Store, the corresponding cookie will not be set even after consent.

3. Consent Management

When you visit the Store for the first time (or after clearing cookies) we display a consent banner with the following options:

  • Accept all — load all categories above.
  • Reject all — load only strictly-necessary cookies.
  • Customise — allow you to enable or disable each non-essential category individually.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the "Cookie preferences" link available in the footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Strictly-necessary cookies are always active because they are exempt from consent under Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive.

4. Browser Controls

In addition to our consent tool, most browsers allow you to view, manage, block, or delete cookies through their settings. Helpful resources:

Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may prevent the cart, checkout, or login from working correctly.

5. "Do Not Track" Signals

There is currently no industry-wide standard for handling "Do Not Track" signals. We respond to consent expressed through our consent banner, which we consider the most reliable indicator of your choice. Where the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal is present, we treat it as an opt-out from non-essential cookies and tracking, in line with emerging supervisory-authority guidance.

6. Data Transfers and Retention

Some cookie providers (notably Google and Meta) are established outside the EEA. Transfers are protected by the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy, Section 6. Cookie durations are indicated above; you can delete cookies at any time through your browser.

7. Updates to this Policy

We review this Cookie Policy periodically and update it when we add or remove tools, when consent requirements change, or when supervisory authorities issue new guidance. The "Effective date" above indicates the latest version.

8. Contact
